LAHORE:Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan Tuesday congratulated Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on presenting what he termed a balanced and comprehensive Punjab Budget 2026-27.
Talking to media outside the Punjab Assembly, he said the budget reflected a clear improvement in revenues and presented a strong revenue outlook. He added that expenditure estimates had been prepared realistically while maintaining fiscal discipline.
The speaker said significant increases had been allocated for public service sectors, including health and education, while sufficient funds had been earmarked for infrastructure development.
He said the budget focused on intellectual and social development and gave priority to investment in rural and underdeveloped areas. Redirecting resources to less-developed regions, he added, was a positive step.
The PA speaker described the budget as promising and capable of meeting public expectations. He said financial matters between the federation and provinces were resolved through consultation and planning.
