ISLAMABAD: The financial success of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) reached unprecedented heights in 2026, with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) earning a record pre-tax profit of more than Rs7.55 billion, according to figures presented before the Senate Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat.
The details revealed that PSL 2026 generated total revenues exceeding Rs10.19 billion, while overall expenditures stood at Rs2.645 billion, resulting in a pre-tax profit of Rs7.549 billion, the highest in the tournament’s history.
The latest figures underline the league’s remarkable commercial growth and increasing appeal among broadcasters, sponsors, franchises and cricket fans both in Pakistan and abroad. According to the PCB’s presentation, PSL profits have witnessed a dramatic rise over the past three editions. The board earned around Rs2 billion from PSL 2024, while profits remained at approximately the same level during PSL 2025. However, PSL 2026 delivered a massive financial leap, with profits surging to more than Rs7.5 billion.
The committee was informed that the league’s value and commercial footprint have expanded significantly, driven by enhanced sponsorship deals, increased media rights revenue, higher ticket sales and growing fan engagement.
Officials told the committee that PSL has evolved into one of the most successful sporting properties in the region, contributing substantially to the PCB’s financial strength and enabling greater investment in cricket development, infrastructure and grassroots programmes.
The record-breaking financial performance is expected to further strengthen the PCB’s position as it plans future expansion of the league and seeks to enhance Pakistan’s profile as a major destination for international cricket.
With revenues crossing the Rs10 billion mark for the first time and profits touching an all-time high, PSL 2026 has emerged as the most lucrative edition of the tournament since its inception, highlighting the league’s growing stature in the global cricket economy.
