LAHORE: Pakistan’s women’s cricket team will travel to Sri Lanka next month for a six-match white-ball series in Hambantota, the Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed on Wednesday.

All fixtures will be staged at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium, with three One-Day Internationals scheduled for July 23, 25 and 28 and three Twenty20 internationals set for July 31, August 2 and August 4.

The three ODIs form part of the ICC Women’s Championship 2025–29, a key pathway for qualification to future global events. Pakistan currently sit second in the Championship standings, having won four of their six completed matches to date and accumulated eight points. New Zealand lead the table on 13 points, although they have played three more fixtures than Pakistan.

The Hambantota ODIs therefore carry significant weight for Pakistan’s campaign as they seek to consolidate their position and keep pressure on the leaders.
