Islamabad: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi chaired a high-level meeting at the Central Police Office to review and enhance security and logistical arrangements ahead of Muharram-ul-Haram.
The meeting, attended by DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq and other senior police officials, assessed the progress of previously assigned tasks and examined ongoing departmental preparations to ensure public safety.
During the session, the IGP received comprehensive briefings on security protocols, traffic management, route planning, inter-division coordination, and public facilitation measures. Rizvi directed officials to complete all arrangements within the stipulated time frame, emphasizing the mobilization of all available resources to maintain law and order and provide a peaceful environment for citizens throughout the holy month.
The police chief reiterated that safeguarding lives and property, ensuring uninterrupted traffic flow, and delivering optimal facilities to the public remain the top priorities of the Islamabad Police. He instructed officers to align all operational planning with ground realities and public needs to improve service delivery. Furthermore, he stressed that coordination between various departments must be exemplary to prevent any inconvenience to citizens during processions and religious gatherings.
Rizvi called upon all personnel to demonstrate high professional competence, dedication, and diligence in the execution of their duties. He ordered tightened surveillance at sensitive locations and the strict implementation of the security plan, alongside maintaining close liaison with relevant departments for immediate emergency response. Warning that no negligence or lapse in security would be tolerated, the IGP urged the force to work tirelessly to ensure that all religious activities conclude peacefully and securely.
