LAHORE:Principal of Postgraduate Medical Institute Prof Dr Farooq Afzal stated that for a physician the journey of acquiring knowledge and training is never-ending. Doctors must face new challenges every day and there is no limit to perfection in the medical profession.
He stated that the real objective of modern medical education is to continuously enhance doctors’ professional capabilities and equip them with the latest clinical skills so they can effectively address the evolving challenges of the healthcare sector. Prof Afzal added that the success of any medical institution depends upon the competence of its doctors and their familiarity with modern medical sciences. Therefore, AMC / LGH regularly organise such training programmes to enhance the skills of doctors.
He expressed these views while addressing the inaugural ceremony of a five-Day summer course ‘Clinical enhancement &resuscitation’ organised by AMC. Prof Abdul Majeed Chaudhry participated as a special guest. A large number of faculty members, senior doctors, including Prof Nudrat Sohail, Prof Farah Shafie, Prof Khurram Saleem and Prof Shandana Tariq,postgraduate trainee doctors and medical students also attended the ceremony. Prof Dr Farooq Afzal said that this course will play a key role in training young doctors to handle emergency medical situations, save lives and master modern clinical skills. Prof Abdul Majeed Chaudhry urged the participants to make the most of these training sessions and apply the acquired knowledge in their practical lives to provide patients with healthcare services of international standards.
