Six men found dead in separate incidents

LAHORE:Six men were found dead in separate incidents across City on Monday, with initial reports suggesting that several of the deceased may have died due to drug overdose or natural causes, according to the Edhi Foundation.

Edhi spokesperson said a 42-yearold unidentified man was found dead near Nasser Bagh in the Old Anarkali area, while a 55-yearold man was discovered dead on a footpath near the Railway Station.

In a third incident, a 28-yearold man identified as Ata Fareed, a resident of Pakpattan, died in the Lorry Adda area after suffering a cardiac arrest, according to rescue officials.A 35-yearold man was found dead near Mughal Pir Graveyard in Kot Kamboh, Nawankot, while a 50-yearold unidentified man was recovered from the Begum Kot area of Shahdara.

A 45-yearold man was found dead near Kacha Jail Road in Kot Lakhpat.

According to the Edhi Foundation, the three deceased men recovered from Nawankot, Shahdara and Kot Lakhpat were believed to be drug addicts and may have died due to excessive drug consumption. However, their identities could not immediately be established.Edhi volunteers shifted all six bodies to the morgue.

Two drug peddlers held

Police have arrested two suspected drug dealers accused of using vegetable consignments to transport and sell narcotics. Sabzi Mandi police post launched an operation following complaints about drug trafficking in the area.

During the operation, police arrested a suspect identified as Babar.Acting on information provided by him, officers later apprehended his alleged accomplice, Tariq.Police said a total of 2.64kg hashish was recovered from the suspects, and separate cases have been registered against them.Investigators alleged that the suspects transported narcotics from Kasur district by concealing them in crates of tomatoes before distributing and selling the drugs in small packets.
