A young man was killed and his brother injured in a traffic accident near the FTC Building on Sharea Faisal on Friday while they were on their way to take their first-year examinations.
According to police, the accident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Ferozabad police station when a motorcycle carrying two brothers met an accident near the FTC Building.
The victims were taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where one of them was pronounced dead.
The deceased was identified as 27-year-old Abdul Rehman and the injured as 25-year-old Abdullah. Both were the sons of former Gulbahar SHO Nadeem Ahmed and residents of Artillery Maidan Police Lines.
Police said the brothers were travelling to Malir to take their first-year examinations when the accident took place.
According to Abdullah, who was riding the motorcycle, the vehicle’s handle suddenly locked, causing him to lose control. Despite his efforts to stop the motorcycle, it veered off course and struck the pavement.
As a result of the impact, Abdullah collided with the footpath and sustained injuries, while his elder brother was thrown onto the road and suffered a fatal head injury, dying on the scene. After completing legal formalities, police handed over the body of the deceased to his family.
