Sardar Shah pays tribute to Aga Khan School’s 100-year contribution

A grand inaugural ceremony was held in Karachi to launch the celebrations marking 100 years of the Aga Khan School Kharadar. Sindh Minister for Education & Literacy Syed Sardar Ali Shah attended the event as the chief guest.

Officials said the ceremony organised by the Aga Khan Education Service Pakistan was attended by Ismaili Council for Pakistan President Nizar Noor Mohammad Mewawalla, Aga Khan Schools Pakistan CEO Imtiaz Momin, General Manager Dr Hina Velji, educationists, social figures, alumni, community leaders and a large number of students.

Addressing the gathering, Shah paid tribute to the institution’s century-long contribution to education, describing the Aga Khan School Kharadar as one of Sindh’s historic and distinguished educational institutions. He noted that over the past 100 years, the school has played a significant role in promoting quality education, character building, leadership development and social progress.

He said the Ismaili community has a 1,000-year history of service in Sindh, with remarkable contributions in the fields of education, health care and social development. He emphasised that understanding Karachi’s history and growth requires acknowledging the contributions of the individuals and communities that played a vital role in the city’s development.

Shah remarked that Kharadar is one of Karachi’s historic localities, and that the Aga Khan School has positively impacted countless families through generations of education and learning. He said that the bond between a school and its students is not limited to a few years but is passed down from one generation to the next, and that educational institutions serve as the foundation for the fulfillment of millions of dreams.

During the ceremony, a special publication documenting the school’s 100-year history was launched. Various commemorative initiatives highlighting the institution’s educational legacy, achievements and contributions were also unveiled. The occasion further recognised and honored individuals who have rendered outstanding services in the field of education.

At the conclusion of the event, participants paid rich tribute to the Aga Khan School Kharadar’s century-long educational journey, its historic contributions and its role in shaping society, while extending their congratulations on this significant milestone.
