LAHORE:Punjab Saaf Pani Authority (PSPA) has decided to modernise its Complaint Management System and establish a monitoring squad comprising 100 motorcycles.
This decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Punjab Minister for Housing and Urban Development Bilal Yasin on Wednesday. The performance review meeting was convened to ensure strict monitoring of water filtration plants and timely redressal of complaints across Punjab.
The meeting conducted a detailed review of the operational status and performance of water filtration plants throughout the province. During the briefing, CEO Capt (retd) Syed Ali Asghar informed the meeting that immediate action would be taken on complaints received through Helpline 1336, established on the directions of CM Punjab. He further stated that monitoring through geo-tagging along with photographic evidence would also be ensured.
The provincial housing minister directed the authority to further strengthen the laboratory testing system for assessing water quality. He emphasised that projects aimed at providing clean drinking water in remote and underdeveloped areas should be completed on a priority basis.
Bilal Yasin stated that the provision of clean and safe drinking water to citizens is among the government’s top priorities. He further remarked that access to clean water is a basic right of every citizen and that no negligence in this regard will be tolerated. The meeting also discussed the PSPA’s future strategy and expansion plans.
