LAHORE:Heavy rain along with thunder and windstorm has significantly brought down mercury while Met office predicted similar weather conditions for the next 24 hours.
Tuesday morning was pleasant after the rain that occurred in different areas of the city but as the sun rose the mercury started to go up until it reached 37°C while the humidity level also increased. Met officials said winds were blown at a speed of 6 kilometers per hour in the city while the humidity ratio in the air was 64 percent. Citizens have expressed happiness over the change in the weather after the rain and hoped that the rains will continue in the coming days, which will further reduce the intensity of the heat.Meanwhile the AQI of the city was 191, which came in the category of unhealthy while the PM2.5 concentration was 4.8 times the World Health Organisation (WHO) annual PM2.5 guideline value. Met officials said weak moist currents were approaching southern parts of the country from Arabian Sea while a westerly wave was also present over upper parts of the country and likely to persist till June 5.
