ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) has dismissed a complaint seeking the removal of former Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa.
Barrister Ali Tahir had previously filed a formal complaint before the Supreme Judicial Council against the former chief justice, levelling a series of allegations and grievances associated with matters of exceptional public importance.
According to Barrister Ali Tahir, the official complaint had been submitted shortly before Justice Isa’s retirement and subsequently remained pending for approximately two years before a final decision was formally communicated to him.
The Supreme Judicial Council, however, dismissed the complaint during its session held on February 11, 2026, after deliberate consideration. “It is informed that your complaint was considered by the Supreme Judicial Council of Pakistan in its meeting on February 11, 2026 and after deliberations, your complaint has been dismissed by the Supreme Judicial Council,” stated a formal letter addressed to Barrister Ali Tahir by the Interim Secretary of the Supreme Judicial Council, issued on May 21, 2026.
