Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and Chinese Consul General in Karachi Yang Yundong have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation, investment and agricultural development while celebrating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.

The discussion took place during a meeting at the Chief Minister’s House on Tuesday. Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Agha Wasif Abbas and The Chinese deputy consul general were also present.

Both sides congratulated each other on the completion of 75 years of diplomatic ties between Pakistan and China and expressed satisfaction over the steadily expanding relationship between the two countries.

The Chinese consul general invited the CM to visit Hubei Province, Sindh’s sister province in China, in October. Chief Minister Shah accepted the invitation, saying the visit would provide an important opportunity to enhance investment, agricultural development and bilateral cooperation.

The meeting also agreed that a delegation of agricultural experts from Sindh would soon visit China to study modern farming practices and advanced agricultural technologies. Speaking on the occasion, the CM said Sindh was keen to modernise its agricultural sector by benefiting from China’s cutting-edge technologies and expertise.

“Our government is working on introducing new crop varieties and projects aimed at achieving higher yields with lower water consumption,” he said, adding that China had achieved remarkable progress in agriculture through the adoption of modern technology.

Shah noted that Pakistan-China relations were growing stronger with each passing day and that cooperation between Sindh and China in trade, investment and development continued to expand.

He described the Pakistan-China friendship as a guarantee of peace, development and prosperity in the region, adding that the enduring relationship between the two countries had emerged stronger through every challenge. The Chinese consul general expressed gratitude for the warmth, cooperation and hospitality he had received during his stay in Sindh, saying the experience would remain memorable.
