KOHAT: Residents of Tor Chappar and adjoining areas in Dara Adamkhel town have begun relocating to safer locations amid an ongoing security operation and the deteriorating law-and-order situation in the region.
According to official sources, the operation was launched following reports of militant presence and attacks on security forces in the area. Several militants have reportedly been killed during the operation so far.
Due to the tense security environment and ongoing exchanges of fire, local residents of Tor Chappar have started moving from their homes to safer areas.To facilitate and support the displaced population, a special control room has been established under the supervision of the Commissioner of Kohat Division and the Deputy Commissioner Kohat. The facility has been set up to address the basic needs and concerns of affected families.
Following reports of displacement from Tor Chappar, Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Shahryar Afridi took immediate steps to assist affected families by establishing a dedicated control room for relief and coordination efforts.
After consultations with Law Minister Aftab Alam, Shahryar Afridi requested Kohat Division Commissioner Syed Moatasim Billah Shah and Deputy Commissioner Kohat Muhammad Nawaz Wazir to oversee the establishment and operation of the facility.
According to the district administration, displaced individuals facing difficulties related to accommodation, medical assistance, food supplies, or other essential services can contact the 24-hour control room at 0922-920032.
The administration has appointed the Assistant Commissioner of Dara Adamkhel as the focal person to ensure the timely resolution of complaints and the provision of necessary assistance to affected families.
Shahryar Afridi assured the displaced residents that he and the district administration stand firmly with them during this difficult period and will provide every possible support and relief.He emphasized that the safety, rehabilitation, and welfare of the affected population remain the government’s top priorities.
