MINGORA: Tourists from across the country flocked to the major tourist destinations in the scenic Swat Valley during Eidul Azha holidays.

Popular attractions, including Kalam, Bahrain, Malam Jabba, Gabin Jabba, Mahodhand Lake and other picturesque locations witnessed unusually large crowds as tourists arrived to enjoy the region’s breath-taking natural beauty.

The visitors fully enjoyed the Swat’s stunning landscapes, cool weather, lush green valleys and snow-capped mountains. Pleasant conditions in the upper areas further enhanced the festive atmosphere with many families choosing to spend their Eid holidays in the valley.

The snow-covered mountain ranges in Kalam and Gabin Jabba remained a major attraction, drawing large numbers of tourists. Young people and children were seen taking photographs and participating in various recreational activities.

The hotels, guesthouses and restaurants across the tourist destinations were also full to the capacity and the local business communities welcomed the surge in tourism, describing it as a positive development for the region’s economy.

Heavy traffic volumes led to long queues of vehicles on some roads and highways. However, the district administration and traffic police implemented special measures to maintain traffic flow and minimise congestion.

The local administration has urged tourists to observe safety precautions during their travels, maintain cleanliness and avoid polluting the natural environment to help preserve the beauty of Swat Valley.
