LAHORE:The Suthra Punjab Agency Lahore (SPAL) has continued its citywide cleanliness operation without interruption on the directions of Director General, Suthra Punjab Authority, Babar Sahib Din, ensuring comprehensive sanitation services across the city.
Under enhanced cleanliness measures, additional sanitation staff remained deployed at railway stations, bus terminals and other public gathering points to facilitate residents returning to Lahore after celebrating Eid in their hometowns.
SPAL also maintained waste clearance operations in all 197 commercial markets of the city, where sanitation workers remained on duty in three shifts. Loader-rickshaws operated by SPAL continued door-to-door waste collection activities across all union councils of Lahore.
According to DG Babar Sahib Din, officers, more than 15,000 sanitation workers and over 1,400 vehicles remained engaged in waste clearance operations in three shifts throughout the city.
The operation included waste collection, manual sweeping, mechanical sweeping and door-to-door waste collection services. He said that providing a clean and healthy environment to citizens remains the foremost priority of the department under CM Maryam Nawaz’s Suthra Punjab vision. DG Babar Sahib urged citizens to report sanitation-related complaints and suggestions through the Suthra Punjab helpline 1139 or via social media platforms.
