It appears that following a rigid age ceiling for public-sector employment eligibility has become a major hurdle for young people. Ordinarily, students take years to complete their studies. Each year brings them closer to the age ceiling/s, limiting how many times they can apply for a job opening. If such restrictions are lifted altogether, or at least relaxed for a temporary period, many unemployed young people would be able to benefit. Such a decision, if taken by the federal or provincial governments, is expected to mitigate the growing ire and miseries of depressed youths.
