Rawalpindi : Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has completed its Eid-ul-Azha cleanliness operation, with more than 4,500 tonnes of sacrificial animal waste disposed of over the three days of Eid, says a press release.
A disinfectant spray and lime-washing operation was carried out across various cantonment areas as part of the final clean-up.
Rawalpindi Cantonment Executive Officer Amir Rashid and Deputy CEO Nasir Kamal visited different areas of the cantonment to review the operation. The drive began a night before Eid and continued for four days without interruption. After waste collection, all transfer stations were washed with water and sprayed with lime to complete the clean-up.
Around 700 staff and more than 119 vehicles, large and small, took part in the sanitation operation. Chief Public Health Officer Khalilullah supervised duties in the field.
A control room set up at the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board office monitored the operation throughout Eid. All 354 complaints received by the board were addressed promptly.
Executive Officer Amir Rashid and Deputy CEO Nasir Kamal continued to inspect cleanliness operations across the cantonment during Eid. The CEO commended the staff for their dedication and hard work.
Waste from collective slaughtering sites, streets and main roads was washed with water and treated with lime spray to complete the sanitation process.
