LAHORE: The PCB S.M. Afzal Memorial U19 Challenge Cup 2026 is currently being played at the Jawad Sports and Cultural Club in Faisalabad, marking the first Pakistan Cricket Board event staged under the new five year partnership between the PCB and the Jawad Club.

The five team PCB S.M Afzal Memorial U19 Challenge Cup 2026 is underway at the Jawad Sports and Cultural Club in Faisalabad. It started on 20 May and will conclude on 6 June and the DCA Faisalabad U19 team will be formed at the end of the tournament.

The competition features five teams competing across a compact schedule that began on 20 May and runs through 6 June. At the conclusion of the event the DCA Faisalabad U19 team will be selected from the performers in the tournament.

Participating teams includes A & A, Bazix, JS & CC, SAME, and J Tex In March 2026 the Jawad Club and the PCB signed a five year Memorandum of Understanding to stage a calendar of district level competitions at the Faisalabad venue. Under the agreement the Jawad Club will host U15, U17 and U19 Challenge Cups, the District senior Challenge League, Inter Club events and the DCA Women’s Cricket League — a first of its kind partnership that pairs a regional sponsor with the PCB to actively develop district cricket in Faisalabad.

The MoU also includes sponsorship of participating teams, signalling a deeper private sector role in grassroots and district development and ensuring sustained funding and facilities for local talent pathways.

“The new arrangement gives Faisalabad a reliable, high quality venue and a structured competition pipeline that can fast track promising players into district and provincial setups. By staging regular age group tournaments and a women’s league, the Jawad Club–PCB partnership aims to broaden participation, improve match exposure for young cricketers and create clearer selection pathways for the DCA Faisalabad representative sides,” believes the officials.
