The Sindh Rangers conducted an intelligence-based operation in the Teen Hatti and Liaquatabad areas of Karachi and arrested three suspects allegedly involved in drug peddling and theft.
According to a spokesperson for the paramilitary force, the arrested suspects were identified as Huzaifa, alias Chhota, son of Rizwan, Jalal, alias Psycho, son of Nasir Ali, and Rashid, alias Popa, son of Hussain.
During the operation, the Rangers seized 70 to 80 grammes of crystal meth (ice), a dagger, 40 mobile phones, three tablets, one laptop, six power banks, one video camera and cash from the suspects’ possession.
Initial investigations revealed that the suspects were drug addicts and allegedly involved in narcotics distribution in Liaquatabad and adjoining areas on the instructions of their handler identified as Asif, alias Bara.
The Rangers spokesperson said the arrested men were also acting as facilitators for robbers and had been involved in sale and purchase of goods stolen during street crimes and robberies.
The paramilitary force stated that Jalal and Rashid were habitual offenders who had previously been arrested by police and served jail time.
Operations were under way to arrest other suspects linked with the network, the Rangers said.
The arrested men along with the recovered narcotics and stolen items were handed over to police for initiation of legal proceedings.
The Rangers also appealed to the public to report criminal elements through the nearest Rangers check post, Rangers helpline 1101, or Rangers WhatsApp helpline, assuring that the informants’ identities would be kept confidential.
