HYDERABAD: On the instructions of the central leadership of the Tehreek Tahaffuz Ayeen-e-Pakistan (TTAP), a well-organized, peaceful, and democratic protest was held in Hyderabad, the second largest city of Sindh.

The main objective of the protest was to raise a public voice for the release of former prime minister Imran Ahmed Khan Niazi and all political prisoners, supremacy of the Constitution and rule of law, and freedom of expression, as well as against soaring inflation, unannounced loadshedding, and rising unemployment.

On the directives of PTI Sindh President Haleem Adil Sheikh, the protest programme was organized by Hyderabad President and MPA Rehan Rajput, Senior Vice President Osama Hafeez Khan, General Secretary Mohsin Ghuman, Deputy General Secretary Sindh Arif Ghafoor Sheikh, and President of Insaf Lawyers Forum Sindh Faisal Mughal, along with other party office-bearers.

Leaders, workers, and people from different walks of life associated with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and allied parties under the platform of the Tehreek Tahaffuz Ayeen-e-Pakistan participated in large numbers.

Addressing the gathering, speakers expressed their views on the country’s overall political, economic, and constitutional situation and stressed the need for the immediate resolution of public issues.

Several resolutions were presented during the protest and were unanimously approved in the presence of participants and the public.

The resolutions included demands for the restoration of the Constitution and democracy, an end to political victimization, protection of fundamental human rights, ensuring women’s safety, and the provision of peace and justice across Sindh and the entire country.

During the protest, participants also demanded the immediate and safe recovery of the 11-year-old girl allegedly abducted from Peshawar.

Concerns were also raised over the increasing activities of riverine bandits, with calls on the government and law enforcement agencies to take effective action.

The participants expressed complete solidarity with their leader Imran Ahmed Khan Niazi and all political prisoners, reiterating their commitment to continue constitutional, legal, and democratic struggle at every level against what they termed the Form 47-produced non-representative and imported government imposed on the country.
