Rawalpindi: A fire broke out in the Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro Bus on Saturday morning, engulfing the entire bus. Passengers jumped out to save their lives, but no one was injured. However, the bus was completely destroyed.
The fire incident at the Sixth Road stop affected the bus service operation on the route between the twin cities and the administration immediately suspended the service temporarily, however, after the fire was brought under control, the affected bus was removed from the track and the bus service was later restored. Upon receiving the information, rescue teams of Rescue 1122 reached the spot and controlled the fire using water bowsers.
Four vehicles and 12 rescuers participated in the operation. It should be noted that this is the second incident of fire in the metro bus this month. The buses plying on the Rawalpindi-Islamabad route are gradually falling into disrepair.
