The US has indicted former Cuban president Raul Castro, charging him with conspiracy to kill US nationals, murder and destruction of aircraft. The charges are reportedly connected to the 1996 downing of two aircraft operated by the Miami-based exile group Brothers to the Rescue. It is interesting that no one has been indicted for the murder of Iran’s leadership by US and Israeli forces or the uncountable innocent citizens, mainly women and children, massacred by the Israelis in Gaza. However, one should not lose hope. The indictment of Castro comes 30 years after the incident, so maybe there will come a time when the perpetrators of these more recent crimes are also brought to the books and punished.
