It was both a historical and nostalgic experience reading 35th anniversary supplement of The News. Having been a regular subscriber and reader since its very first issue on February 11, 1991, I could vividly recall the excitement and expectations that accompanied the launch of this newspaper. Over the past three-and-a-half decades, The News has not only grown into one of the country’s leading English dailies but has also contributed significantly to raising the standards of English journalism in Pakistan.
Today, reading The News has become an essential part of my daily breakfast routine. The newspaper’s balanced coverage, insightful editorials, informative op-eds, business matters and diverse range of features continue to make it a valuable source of information and analysis for its readers across the country. I particularly enjoyed the 35th anniversary supplement, especially the columns and reflections written by past and present members of the editorial team. They offered readers a fascinating glimpse into the newspaper’s journey, challenges and achievements over the years. My heartfelt felicitations to the management, editors, reporters and staff of The News for maintaining high professional standards and journalistic credibility for 35 years. I wish the newspaper continued success in the years ahead.
