SUKKUR: Shikarpur Police recovered a kidnapped girl from Peshawar after killing one robber.

The police conducted an operation in the Kot Shahu katcha area of Shikarpur, led by SSP Shikarpur Muhammad Kaleem Malik, for the recovery of an 11-year-old girl abducted from Peshawar. During the operation, one robber was killed and an abducted girl was rescued, SSP Shikarpur said.

The killed robber was identified as Yaseen Banglani, who was allegedly wanted in 29 serious cases, including murder, robbery, theft and police encounters. The rescued girl was abducted from Lahore on April 19 after being lured with a job offer.

SSP Muhammad Kaleem said the operation would continue until the recovery of another minor girl, abducted from Peshawar, adding that all resources were being utilised for her recovery. Salima, mother of the abducted girl said kidnappers had demanded Rs1.5 million as ransom for her safe release. She said she travelled to Sukkur with the ransom amount and paid it to kidnapper Ali Gohar Nasrani, but alleged that instead of releasing her daughter, the dacoit abducted her again. She demanded the immediate release of her daughter.
