Federal Investigation Agency Immigration authorities at Port Qasim on Thursday detected suspicious seaman books belonging to two Indian crew members during the clearance of the vessel JBU Schelde.

According to an FIA spokesperson, the vessel had arrived at Port Qasim from Indonesia. During the clearance process, Indian nationals Kudchi Vijay and Gudekar Roshan Gopal were found not carrying Indian national CDC/seaman books and were instead using seaman books issued by Palau. The spokesperson added that the two crew members also failed to produce the required maritime documents, including Certificates of Competency (COC) and Certificates of Proficiency (COP).

Based on preliminary investigations, authorities had recommended imposing a fine of Rs500,000 on each individual. The FIA spokesperson said that FIA Immigration was continuing its crackdown against illegal travel documents and related violations.
