KARACHI: Pakistan Sports Board has reported that during the period from January 1st to March 31st in 2026 four petitions were filed by various individuals concerning sports-related disputes.
“These matters were referred to adjudicators, out of which two cases were decided expeditiously,” stated PSB, adding that adjudication mechanism in sports was established to provide a prompt, fair, and specialized forum for resolution of disputes.
According to details, the first complaint was from M Ilyas Afridi alleging that Pakistan Taekwondo Federation unlawfully used his CNIC and NTN to operate a bank account at Faysal Bank, Rawalpindi, involving transactions exceeding Rs 101 million without his consent.
“The allegations raise serious concerns about financial governance and legality of the Federation’s operations. The matter has been referred to the PSB Adjudicator for adjudication,” stated PSB.
The PSB adjudicator Zahoor Ahmad after proceedings observed that the matter primarily falls within the domain of relevant regulatory and investigative authorities and does not warrant adverse findings within the scope of PSB’s adjudicatory jurisdiction.
“However, advisory observations have been issued regarding compliance with financial governance standards,” stated the adjudicator.
The second petition was from Khalid Sajjad Khokhar stating that during his tenure as President Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) in 2023 he extended a loan amounting to Rs. 14,056,000 from his personal funds to the PHF in order to meet urgent financial and operational liabilities.
“He submitted that despite repeated requests and assurances from the PHF, the said amount has not been refunded. The petitioner has requested recovery of the outstanding amount. The matter was referred to adjudicator Zahoor Ahmad,” stated PSB.
The PSB adjudicator Zahoor Ahmad in his order stated that that the matter pertains to an internal financial arrangement of the federation.
“Accordingly, the petition has been returned to Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) for determination by its competent forum in accordance with its Constitution, by-laws, and financial rules.
“PHF is required to decide the matter through a reasoned resolution and communicate its decision to the petitioner under intimation to Pakistan Sports Board. It is further clarified that Pakistan Sports Board shall not be treated as financially liable in respect of the said claim,” stated the order.
The third petition was from Manzoor Pehlwan from Multan who submitted application challenging the elections of the Pakistan Wrestling Federation for the term 2025–2029.
“The applicant has alleged that the Pakistan Wrestling Federation conducted its elections in July 2025 in violation of the orders of the Islamabad High Court.
“It has further been stated that despite directions for conducting the elections through the Election Commission constituted by the Pakistan Sports Board, the Federation conducted the elections through its own election commission. The matter has been referred to the PSB Adjudicator Senator Pervaiz Rashid,” stated PSB.
The decision in this regard is still pending. The fourth petition was submitted by parents of national swimmers regarding an alleged case of age fraud in swimming and alleged misrepresentation of age by swimmers and non-compliance with prescribed age verification procedures by the concerned association.
“The matter has been referred for adjudication in light of the provisions of Clause 5(x) of the Pakistan Code of Ethics and Governance in Sports, 2024 and the PSB Policy on Age Fraud dated 20 July 2025,” stated PSB. The decision in this regard is still pending.
