LAHORE: Pakistan’s cricketing fortunes took a further hit as they slipped to the eighth spot in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025–27 standings, following a crushing 78-run defeat to Bangladesh in the second Test. The loss in Sylhet sealed a humiliating 2-0 series whitewash for the hosts.

The emphatic victory has significantly altered the WTC landscape, propelling Bangladesh to fifth place with 28 points and a win percentage of 58.33. With two wins and a draw from four matches, the hosts have leapfrogged India, who now drop to sixth place despite having played more matches.

Pakistan, conversely, finds itself in a precarious position near the bottom of the table. With just one win from four outings, their win percentage has plummeted to a mere 8.33. Australia continues to dominate the summit with a win percentage of 87.50, followed by New Zealand and South Africa.
