LAHORE: Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) Lahore Adviser for Media and Political Affairs Agha Syed Taqi Shah has said rising inflation has made life increasingly difficult for the public, with many struggling to afford basic meals.
In a statement, he said escalating fuel prices were a key driver of inflation, pushing the overall cost of living to alarming levels.
He urged the government to adopt targeted measures for relief of low-income groups and to strengthen price control mechanisms. Taqi stressed that price control committees must remain active to monitor markets and curb profiteering and unjustified price hikes. He also appreciated Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan for reducing traffic fines, calling it a positive step. He said similar public-oriented initiatives could help ease the financial burden on citizens.
