The Federal Investigation Agency on Friday carried out a major operation against an illegal hawala-hundi network in Karachi and seized millions of rupees in cash and foreign currency during raids conducted in different parts of the city.
According to an FIA spokesperson, the operation was conducted by the FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC) Karachi on the directives of the Director FIA Karachi Zone and under the supervision of the Deputy Director FIA AHTC. Acting on confidential information, FIA officials raided Tai Travel Agency located at Koh Noor Square on Campbell Road in Karachi. During the initial inspection, investigators recovered important evidence related to hawala-hundi transactions from mobile phones found in the possession of the suspect.
