LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board will run a four-day Level-II Umpiring Course at Gaddafi Stadium from Thursday, aiming to expand its pool of match officials for domestic tournaments.
Sixty-five candidates who cleared the PCB Level-I Umpiring Course in 2024-25 under the prescribed criteria will attend the program, scheduled for May 14 to 17. Participants will undergo comprehensive training sessions from May 14 to 16, followed by a written examination and interviews on Sunday.
Successful candidates will become eligible to officiate in PCB-organised tournaments, subject to the Board’s criteria. The course will be conducted by Ahsan Raza, a member of the ICC Elite Panel of Umpires, and Asif Yaqoob, who sits on the ICC Emerging Panel of Umpires. Both are also members of the ICC Almanac Committee. The Level-II program is part of PCB’s ongoing efforts to strengthen umpiring standards and create a wider talent pool for domestic cricket.
