RAWALPINDI: Additional District and Sessions Judge Majid Hussain Gadhi has sentenced four accused named in the murder of nine members of a famous family of Chontra to death for five times each and sentenced one to life imprisonment for five times.
The court also sentenced all the five accused to a fine of Rs5 lakh each and ordered each accused to pay Rs1 lakh each as compensation to the heirs of the deceased. The court issued this decision after rehearing the case under the orders of a high court on the appeal of the accused.
After the rehearing, the court upheld the previous decision of a trial court and ordered that the accused be hanged until death.
The Chontra police station had registered the case on July 25, 2020, on the complaint of Nazar Abbas Sukna Mayal under Section 7 ATA of the Anti-Terrorism Act, in addition to Sections 302, 324, 449, 145 and 149 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
