LAHORE: The Marka-e-Haq Punjab Powerlifting Championship concluded at the Forest Cafe Hall with Lahore District being crowned overall champions and Amna Babar claiming the title of strongest woman of Punjab.
Amna lifted a total of 250 kg across the three lifts to secure the championship belt. The championship, organised by the Punjab Raw Powerlifting Association, attracted more than 50 junior, senior and master female powerlifters from Lahore, Nankana, Gujranwala, Kasur and Faisalabad. The competition featured the three standard raw powerlifting events — Bench Press, Squat and Deadlift — and showcased rising talent across the province.
Amna Babar, a member of the National Weightlifting Club, Punjab Stadium, produced a composed and powerful display i.e. Bench Press 45 kg, Squat 95 kg, and Deadlift 110 kg, combining for a 250 kg total. Her consistent lifts under pressure earned her the championship belt in front of a large and enthusiastic crowd.
Lahore District finished first, Kasur were runners-up, and Gujranwala secured third place. Gold medalists of the event in their respective categories included Sundas Taimur; Mahira Ramzan; Raqshi Asif; Muskan Shahzad; Samrin Niaz; Urooj Dilawar; Mehwish Imdad; Kashf Altaf; Aqsa Hussain; Humira Iftikhar; Amna Babar; Hira Khan; Sana Tariq. Silver Medalists: Aliza Khadim; Sidra Tul Muntaha; Seemab; Rukhsar Aftab; Aisha Rashid; Iqra Ashraf; Alisha Manshah; Malaika Wasim; Saira Aamir; Nazia Parveen.
Bronze Medalists: Zaila Qamar; Iman Fatima; Zeenat Ashraf; Noor Shahzad; Aliza Jawad; Mubeen Fatima; Sahar Aamir; Ambreen Faisal; Shehzadi Nazir.
