Sindh Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah on Saturday paid glowing tributes to the nation, the Pakistan Armed Forces, martyrs and war veterans on the first anniversary of the victory of Marka-e-Haq (Battle of Truth).

A statement quoted Shah as saying that May 10, 2025, would be remembered in golden words in the country’s history, when Pakistan’s falcons crushed the arrogance of the enemy, the pride of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the claims surrounding Rafale fighter jets, proving Pakistan’s superiority to the world.

He said that the success of Marka-e-Haq is a shining example of national unity, bravery, public determination and the professional capabilities of the Pakistan Armed Forces.

He paid rich tributes to President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, saying that the national leadership demonstrated courage, wisdom and outstanding strategy, which elevated Pakistan’s stature across the world.

He said Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari played an effective diplomatic role after Marka-e-Haq by presenting Pakistan’s stance to the international community in a strong and convincing manner, while also highlighting Pakistan’s principled position regarding peace, sovereignty and national security.

Shah said the people of Pakistan have always rendered exemplary sacrifices for the defence of the motherland, and the same spirit remains alive in the nation today.

He said the victory of Marka-e-Haq buried the enemy’s evil designs and sent a clear message to the world that the Pakistani nation can never compromise on its sovereignty, security and national dignity.

He added that the services and sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces are a matter of immense pride for the entire nation, and that the people of Pakistan stand shoulder to shoulder with their brave soldiers.

Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar also paid tributes to Pakistan’s brave armed forces, security institutions, martyrs and war veterans, saying that Marka-e-Haq has become a symbol of national resolve, unity, sacrifice and patriotism in the country’s history.

A statement quoted Lanjar as saying that Pakistan’s armed forces had crushed the enemy’s malicious designs and made the entire nation proud. He remarked that Marka-e-Haq was not merely a battle but it has emerged as a symbol of Pakistan’s survival, sovereignty, national dignity and territorial integrity.

He said the battle united the entire nation under one flag and sent a clear message to anti-state elements that the people of Pakistan stand shoulder to shoulder with their armed forces. The day marks national solidarity, tribute to the martyrs and a renewed commitment to safeguarding the motherland, he added.

He said the martyrs’ sacrifices are a source of pride for the nation, and their families deserve the highest respect and honour. “The nation can never forget the eternal sacrifices of its martyrs and war heroes.”

Meanwhile, Karachi Commissioner Syed Hassan Naqvi held a flag-hoisting ceremony at his office. Speaking to the media, he said that this historic success has made the Pakistani nation proud and augmented Pakistan’s prestige internationally.

Naqvi said that through Marka-e-Haq, Pakistan not only gave a befitting response to enemy attacks but also achieved success at the diplomatic and defence levels. This success has distinguished Pakistan in the world by giving it military superiority in the region, he added.

He said that over the past year, Pakistan’s name as a nation and country has been elevated across the entire world. “The role our leadership has played is exemplary. This had not been possible before. We are united and express our joy, and we will continue to demonstrate the same spirit and unity.”
