LAHORE: Fatima Sana will lead the Pakistan women in the coming T20 Internationals against Zimbabwe as the national women’s selection committee on Saturday unveiled a 15-member T20I squad for the upcoming three-match series against Zimbabwe. The series scheduled to take place at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi from May 12 to 15.

Uncapped duo Amber Kainat and Saira Jabeen earned call-ups while Sidra Ameen has been reserved for the national women team as Pakistan Zimbabwe with an aim to clean sweep after ODI dominance.

The T20I series represents a significant opportunity for the Green Shirts to test their bench strength against a Zimbabwean side that has struggled to contain Pakistan’s batting firepower in the 50-over format.

Among the 15 players named, two uncapped cricketers have caught the selectors’ attention with their domestic performances.

Right-arm fast bowler Amber Kainat has been rewarded for an exceptional campaign in the recently concluded National Women’s T20 Tournament, where she claimed 11 wickets in eight matches for the Invincibles. Her ability to generate pace and extract bounce from Karachi’s pitches is understood to have impressed the selection panel.

Saira Jabeen, the other uncapped player in the squad, was previously part of Pakistan’s T20I contingent on the recent tour of South Africa. Although she did not make her international debut during that series, her inclusion in the traveling squad signaled the management’s belief in her potential. Saira will be eager to earn her first cap on home soil in front of Karachi crowds.

15-member squad: Fatima Sana (captain), Amber Kainat, Aliya Riaz, Ayesha Zafar, Eyman Fatima, Gull Feroza, Iram Javed, Muneeba Ali (wicket-keeper), Nashra Sundhu, Natalia Parvaiz, Rameen Shamim, Sadia Iqbal, Saira Jabeen, Tasmia Rubab and Tuba Hassan.
