LAHORE: An outstanding all-round performance from Asghar Ali guided Masood Builders to a comprehensive five-wicket win over Javed Engineers in the third Anwar Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament at the Punjab University New Campus Ground.

Batting first, Javed Engineers posted 140/7 in 20 overs, with contributions from Sagheer Mukhtar (42 off 35), Khalid Hussain (29), and M. Imran (23). Masood Builders’ bowling attack was spearheaded by Asghar Ali, who claimed 3/23, while Umar Iqbal impressed with 3/13. Dr. Saeed Khan chipped in with 1/20 to restrict the opposition.

In reply, Masood Builders chased down the target in 18.4 overs, finishing at 141/5. Asghar Ali once again stole the show with a match-winning unbeaten 48 off 24 balls, laced with boundaries that shifted momentum decisively.

Nasir Masood (29 not out) and M. Ashraf (19) provided valuable support in the middle order. For Javed Engineers, Mumtaz Ahmad (2/29), Waseem Asif (1/18), and M. Imran (1/19) tried to contain the chase but could not prevent Masood Builders from sealing victory. For his exceptional all-round display — three wickets with the ball and a decisive unbeaten 48 with the bat — Asghar Ali was named Man of the Match.
