ISLAMABAD: The first-ever judicial delegation of Pakistan, comprising predominantly officers from the district judiciary, is undertaking a working visit to stanbul, Türkiye, from May 3 to 8, on the invitation of Constitutional Court of the Republic of Türkiye.
The visit forms part of the implementation of a recently-signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on judicial cooperation between the two courts, providing a framework for capacity building, judicial training and exchange of best practices, particularly in the use of modern technologies in judicial processes.
The delegation, nominated by the chief justice of Pakistan, comprises Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Judge, Supreme Court of Pakistan, Justice Ali Baig, Chief Justice, Chief Court Gilgit-Baltistan, and eight best performing judges of the district judiciary recommended by the respective high courts.
Meanwhile, a delegation of the Islamabad Bar Council (IBC), led by the IBC chairman and vice chairman, called on the Chief Justice of Federal Constitutional Court of Pakistan, Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan, at the FCCP on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the delegation also extended a formal invitation to the chief justice to attend the IBC’s upcoming licence distribution ceremony, reflecting the strong institutional relationship between the judiciary and legal fraternity.
