As per data released by the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation, bill collection increased by 10.5 per cent during the first four months of 2026, reflecting a notable improvement in financial performance and recovery efforts.

During the period under review, the corporation collected Rs8,148 million, compared to Rs7,373 million in the corresponding period of 2025, showing an increase of Rs775 million. KWSC officials said that the upward trend is not limited to the initial months, as cumulative collections during the first 10 months of FY2025-26 have recorded a significant 29 per cent increase compared to the same period of the previous financial year, amounting to Rs5,161 million.

They added that this growth is a clear indicator of improved financial performance within the organisation. It was further stated that the average monthly collection during the first 10 months of FY2025-26 has exceeded Rs2.26 billion, reflecting a sustained positive trend in revenue generation.

According to officials, the key factors behind the increase in collections include the joint efforts of the corporation’s officers and staff, the services of third-party recovery officers, gradual tariff adjustments, recovery of outstanding dues, and improved efficiency of the recovery system, which has significantly accelerated the collection of receivables.

The corporation reiterated its commitment to further improving revenue generation and ensuring financial stability through continued effective measures in the future.
