KARACHI: Gold prices increased by Rs11,100 per tola on Wednesday in the local market following an increase in the international market.

According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, 24-karat gold rates reached Rs488,962 per tola. Similarly, the price of 10-gram gold rose by Rs9,517 to Rs419,206.

Gold rates increased by $111 to $4,666 per ounce in the international market. Typically, gold prices in the local market are adjusted by a premium of $20 against rates in the international market.Silver rates increased by Rs223 to Rs8,072 per tola. Similarly, 10-gram silver rates also rose by Rs191 to Rs6,920.
