LAHORE: The IKO-Matsushima All Pakistan Under-16 Kyokushin Karate Challenge Cup will be staged on May 16, 2026, offering a national platform for young martial artists to showcase their skills and discipline.
The competition will begin at 9:00 AM and conclude with a prize distribution ceremony in the evening. The event is being organized under the supervision of Shihan Atta Hussain Butt, an International Karate Master Instructor and Referee for IKO-Matsushima Japan.
Eligibility is open to both boys and girls under the age of 16 and the Weight Divisions includes: Categories range from -20kg to +65kg (Open).
Matches will follow official IKO-Matsushima Kyokushin Karate rules, with each bout lasting two minutes. Every participant will compete in kumite once and receive either a gold or silver medal. An honorary jury will also award trophies to athletes demonstrating exceptional skill.
Registration is open until May 5, 2026, with participation restricted to selective members. The event is supported by Kyokushin Karate Associations from Lahore, Peshawar, Islamabad, Quetta, and Karachi. Kyokushin Karate Federation Pakistan and Kyokushin Karate Association Punjab. Pakistan Karate Clubs, Atta Butt Dojos, and the Pakistan Karate Organisation Kyokushin-kaikan IKO-Matsushima Japan.
According to Shihan Atta Butt, the Challenge Cup aims to provide young athletes with a platform to demonstrate their technical prowess, discipline, and spirit of Kyokushin Karate. By bringing together participants from across Pakistan, the event seeks to nurture emerging talent and strengthen the culture of martial arts among youth.
