CCTV footage shows how trailer crushed two labourers to death in Landhi

An investigation team has obtained the CCTV footage of a traffic accident in which two labourers were crushed under the trailer.

Officials said the footage available helped them ascertain how the tragic accident had occurred near Landhi Hospital Chowrangi.

It showed the two labourers died after falling under a trailer near Landhi Hospital Chowrangi. In the footage, it can be seen that the trailer is slowly moving forward. When it passed by, the bodies of two people came to light from under it.

The driver did not even realise that two people had been crushed under the trailer and left. After going some distance near the Chowrangi, the cleaner of the trailer ran and told the driver about the accident. However, instead of stopping, the driver took the cleaner along with him in the trailer and fled the scene.

The deceased in the tragic incident were identified as 25-year-old Arshad and 30-year-old Zameer. To relieve the fatigue, they lay down under the trailer to avoid the intense sun and fell asleep lying down. They did not even know that the trailer had started and were killed. However, a case has been reported and investigations are underway.

Meanwhile, two people riding a motorcycle were injured in a collision with an unknown vehicle on Hawkes Bay Road’s New Truck Stop in Mauripur area. The injured were shifted to the Civil Hospital.

According to police, the injured have been identified as 35-year-old Habibullah, son of Saifur Rehman, and 30-year-old Muhammad Isa. The condition of the injured is said to be very critical. A case has been reported and investigations are underway.
