PESHAWAR: Residents of Mashokhel and Budhber staged a protest outside the Peshawar Press Club against alleged excesses by personnel of Faqirabad Police Station.

The protesters claimed that former Mashokhel village council member Mushtaq Khan and Budhber resident Javed Khan were abducted, assaulted, and had their vehicle damaged by police officials on April 25.

According to the demonstrators, the two men had gone to Pishtakhara Police Station to file a complaint regarding a financial dispute. After leaving the station, they were allegedly stopped near the premises by an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) and three other police personnel, forced into a private vehicle, and taken to a police post in Paharipura before being shifted to Faqirabad Police Station later that night. They further alleged that the front windshield of their vehicle was smashed and its number plate removed.
