Over 19 kg of hashish recovered in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: The Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has foiled a major drug smuggling attempt in Peshawar, recovering more than 19 kilograms of hashish and arresting the accused on the spot.

An official communique said the Bureau of Intelligence and Investigation Squad, acting on a tip-off, carried out a raid at Northern Bypass, Peshawar. During the operation, a vehicle bearing registration number LWH-2020 was intercepted and searched, resulting in the recovery of 19,200 grams of hashish.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of Provincial In-Charge Akif Nawaz Khan and led by Inspector Muhammad Riaz, In-Charge Excise Intelligence Squad, along with Dawood Khan and other personnel.

During the operation, the accused, Naimat Shah, a resident of Nasapa Tapo Koroona Bakhshi Pul, was arrested. A case has been registered against the accused at Excise Police Station in Peshawar Region, and further investigation is underway.
