A quiet afternoon in Orangi Town turned into a nightmare for the family of 15-year-old Kinza, a ninth-grade student whose life was cut short after a tragic fall inside her school in Sector 13C.

The incident began on April 21, when Kinza’s father, Raja Mehdi Hassan, received a call informing him that his daughter had been seriously injured at school. He rushed to Qatar Hospital in panic, hoping for answers.

However, he was met with confusion. A teacher initially told him that Kinza had fallen from the stairs, but the severity of her injuries suggested otherwise. Kinza had suffered critical trauma to her head and both legs. As her condition worsened, she was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and later moved to a private hospital for further treatment. Despite efforts to save her, she passed away the following day.

According to the father’s complaint, the school administration provided conflicting accounts of the incident. Initially, they claimed Kinza had fallen from the stairs, but later stated that she had fallen from the roof. The changing versions raised serious concerns.

Raja Mehdi Hassan alleged that negligence played a fatal role, accusing the school owner, Hafiz Arshad, and a chemistry teacher of failing in their duty of care. He claimed that the teacher allowed Kinza to leave the class unsupervised, which led to the incident.

A case of culpable homicide had been registered at the Orangi Town police station. However, both the school owner and the teacher named in the complaint had reportedly gone into hiding. The police said raids were being conducted to arrest them, but no arrests have been made so far.

Adding to the mystery, investigators had yet to obtain CCTV footage from the school. The administration had claimed that the cameras were not operational at the time of the incident, raising further questions.

As the investigation continues, Kinza’s death had left the community in grief, with many demanding answers regarding safety, accountability, and the circumstances surrounding the loss of a young life.
