Islamabad:The federal capital is currently undergoing a massive, indiscriminate crackdown on illegal land occupation as authorities enforce a strict zero-tolerance policy against all forms of encroachment.

The high-profile operation reached a significant milestone today (Monday) with the demolition of a Frontier Constabulary (FC) camp office. The facility, which had been established on a green belt situated between the Marriott Hotel and Ayub Chowk, was leveled as part of the government’s commitment to reclaiming public space.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi personally supervised the proceedings, signaling the administration’s resolve to apply the law equally to both private and state entities. Speaking from the site of the operation, Minister Naqvi affirmed that the campaign is being executed without any external pressure or preferential treatment. He clarified that every structure targeted for removal is being handled in strict accordance with legal protocols.

While the FC camp office was removed to restore the city’s green belt, the minister assured that an alternative, legally sanctioned site would be allocated for the facility to ensure operational continuity.

The minister stressed that the era of unlawful construction on state land has come to an end.

He stated that neither government departments nor private individuals will be permitted to occupy public property moving forward. According to the minister, the primary objective of this intensive drive is to return Islamabad to its original master-planned state and to purge the city of all illegal structures.

The chairman of the Capital Development Authority accompanied the minister during the site visit, coordinating the logistics of the ongoing machinery work and debris removal. The operation remains active across several sectors of the capital as the government prioritises the complete elimination of encroachments to improve the city's urban landscape.
