Housing Dept approves 12 uplift schemes

LAHORE: Punjab Housing Department approved a total of 12 key development schemes in a Departmental Development Sub-Committee (DDSC) meeting chaired by Secretary Housing Punjab Noor ul Amin Mengal on Monday. 

Several departmental matters and various development schemes were also reviewed in detail in the meeting.

Housing Department spokesperson said that significant progress has been made in the approval of development projects for the upcoming fiscal year in Punjab. The meeting approved multiple development schemes for Lahore, Faisalabad, Jhelum, and Murree. Approval was also granted for the construction of two new disposal stations in the Ganj Bakhsh Zone of Wasa Lahore, while six different schemes of the Lahore Development Authority were also given the green signal. Among the approved projects, remodeling of key locations in Lahore including Toke Wala Chowk and Shadbagh Chowk is included, along with the upgradation of Sher Shah Road, Peco Road, and Main Manga Mandi Road. Similarly, a project for the improvement of roads and streets in Millat Town, Faisalabad, has also been approved to provide better commuting facilities to residents.

The meeting also approved a research and development scheme under Punjab Wasa. Additionally, under the Public Health Department, approval was granted for pumping machinery for a water supply scheme in Murree. Furthermore, a regulation scheme to improve the water supply system in Pind Dadan Khan, Jhelum, was also approved. According to the spokesperson for the Housing Department, efforts are being made to ensure uniform development and provision of facilities across all districts of the province. He stated that the approved projects are highly significant for public welfare and their timely completion will be ensured.
