KARACHI: MG Motor Pakistan has launched an updated version of its HS sport utility vehicle, introducing two hybrid variants as competition intensifies in the country’s nascent market for electrified vehicles.
The new model, unveiled at the company’s Lahore facility, includes a Hybrid+ variant and a plug-in ‘Super Hybrid’ version, marking MG’s latest expansion in Pakistan since entering the market in 2020.
The Hybrid+ combines a petrol engine with an electric motor, while the plug-in hybrid variant offers an electric-only driving range of up to 135 kilometres, according to the company. The vehicles are priced at Rs9,499,000 for the Hybrid+ and Rs10,199,000 for the plug-in hybrid.
MG said the latest HS features updated exterior styling and interior design, alongside new technology upgrades across both variants.
MG, backed by China’s SAIC Motor Corp, was among the early entrants in Pakistan’s hybrid SUV segment. The company said it plans to expand its product lineup and production capacity, with potential exports under consideration.
