Unscientific science

I have done my intermediate in computer science with major subjects computer science, physics and maths. During this entire two-year period, our teachers never took our class to the physics lab or computer lab, nor did they perform a single experiment in the class. What kind of science is this? This unscientific approach towards science is a major reason why students think of science subjects as burdensome and why they are void of creativity. The outcome is quite obvious. Each year, matric and inter students secure 100 per cent marks in science subjects, but the country’s contribution to global science and research is negligible. How many scientists are we producing? How many inventions are we giving to the world?

Science is all about the exploration of the natural world and it must be taught in a natural way. Because science is not about cramming formulas, it is about doing fascinating things. And in order to do fascinating things, all you need is a creative learning environment.
