ISLAMABAD: Orders regarding appointments, transfers and retirements in federal bureaucracy have been issued.
According to various notifications issued by the Establishment Division, Iftikhar Ahmed Khan has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in Cabinet Division, and Muhammad Naqeeb Ahmed as Deputy Secretary in Maritime Affairs Division. Deputy Secretary of Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Zafar Iqbal, has been transferred and directed to report to Establishment Division. Azmat Ali, a Grade-19 officer of Secretariat Group, who was awaiting posting, has been appointed to Council of Common Interests Secretariat.
Notifications have also been issued regarding retirements: Deputy Secretary of Ministry of Housing and Works, Yawar Hussain Rana (Grade-19, Secretariat Group), will retire on September 5, 2026, while Deputy Secretary of Finance Division, Muhammad Moatasim Billah Rana (Grade 19, Secretariat Group), will retire on January 21, 2027.
Former Member Administration of CDA and a Pakistan Administrative Service officer (basis cadre), Talat Mahmood Gondal, has been granted one year of ex-Pakistan leave.
Shahryar Ahmed, a Grade-18 officer of Pakistan Administrative Service appointed as Deputy Secretary in Finance Division under Section 10 of Civil Servants Act, 1973, has been granted one year of unpaid leave starting from April 8, 2026. After completion of leave, the officer will report to Establishment Division. Section Officer Hafsa bint Bilal has been granted one year of leave. The appointment of Rana Fahad Javed as Section Officer in Ministry of Defence has been extended for two years.
Meanwhile, after completing 53rd Common Training Programme, Establishment Division has posted 38 officers of Office Management Group (BS-17) as Section Officers (Probationers) to Secretariat Training Institute, Islamabad, for a Specialised Training Programme starting from April 24, 2026.
