LAHORE:The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration has intensified passenger screening at Lahore Airport, leading to several actions related to suspected immigration violations, fake travel documents, and visa fraud.
According to an FIA, six Vietnamese nationals were sent back from the airport and denied entry into Pakistan. The passengers were traveling on visit visas, but their hotel bookings were found to be fake. Officials stated that the individuals were unaware of their intended destination. Their mobile phones were checked on suspicion of links with scamming agents, and all chat records were found deleted. It was further revealed that they had only one travel record to Cambodia. The passengers were sent back following the action.
In another development, a passenger identified as Adnan was arrested for attempting to travel on forged documents. He was scheduled to fly to Malaysia on flight UL-154. During initial investigation, fake arrival and departure stamps of Karachi Airport were detected on his passport.
According to officials, the suspect had obtained the forged stamps from an agent in exchange for 5,000 Malaysian ringgit. He has been shifted to the Anti-Human Smuggling Circle Lahore for further investigation. The FIA Lahore Director said that a crackdown against those involved in preparing fake documents is ongoing.
Separately, FIA Lahore Zone arrested two suspects, Shahid Saeed and MShakeel, from different areas of Lahore and Okara in connection with human smuggling and visa fraud cases.According to the FIA, M Shakeel allegedly received Rs5 million from a citizen on the pretext of arranging a Canada work visa, while Shahid Saeed allegedly took Rs2.35 million from another individual for a Croatia work visa. Both suspects have been taken into custody, and investigations are in progress.The FIA spokesperson said that operations against migrant smuggling and visa fraud networks are continuing.
