LAHORE: Special programmes are being started for the promotion of sports in rural areas and a regular sports calendar is being introduced at school and college levels.
Punjab Minister for Sports Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar said this while talking to MPAs Raja Sagheer, Mansoor Azam and Mian Munir, who called on him at his office at the National Hockey Stadium on Tuesday.
During the meeting, the promotion of sports in different constituencies and the relevant problems were discussed in detail.
Talking to visiting MPAs, Khokhar said that sports fields are being activated in the government schools to attract the youth towards healthy activities. “The sports complexes equipped with modern facilities are being established in every constituency, while 1,000 schools have been targeted for sports activities in collaboration with the Education and Sports Department”.
